Wish I would have upgraded a long time ago. Watch the video online on how to adjust (simple: just squeeze), and it works great. I may need to get a second or third to keep spare spools on to keep going without having to reload!

This is now my favorite bobbin ever. I’ve been tying for 15 years and this is by far the best one. It is smooth and very ergonomic. Definitely buying a few more

Great feel, great balance all at a fair price. Tension is an issue if you change from one size spool to another. I knew this up front so I bought 2 of them. I just finished tying 12 dozen flies with one of these with no issues!

That bright yellow handle sure feels great in the hand. But tension not strong enough. Frustrating to watch it unwind to pedestal base every time you release it. Tried bending arms without success. Length of tube almost forces you to buy another yellow handled threader.

This is the only Loon product I am disappointed in

I purchased my bobbin from fly fish food about a month ago. It feels great in the hand, and I am pleased with its ease of use. The fatal flaw I found with this tool is the tension is not tight enough to bear the weight of the bobbin while it hangs on my vise. I've tried using GSP, and UTC 70D spools and the spool still slips under the weight of the bobbin. I've tried bending the arms in for a tighter fit, but that has not solved the issue. Other fly tyers suggested a rubber band around the arms to keep tighter tension on the thread spool, but I feel that a $20 bobbin should work as it's meant to all on its own.
