My Go To Scissors for Small Flies and Precision Trimming

Very good tip for specific applications when precision is needed. Definitely not the scissors you want to use as an all around, but I use them frequently for precise snipping.

Excellent special purpose tool

I do all kinds of tying, so I wouldn’t want these to be my general use scissors, as the cutting surface is a little small for that. However, they are excellent at what they were intended for, which is very precise cutting. They are narrow enough to work them through palmered hackle to cut the tag end without nicking a a single fiber. I wouldn’t want to be without them tying small dries and nymphs, and they even prove very handy for trimming the odd tag end on streamers.

Cutting tough synthetic materials

I tie many different sizes of flies that use different synthetic materials (tails, bodies, wings) and many times getting into small spaces to trim these tough materials is difficult. The use of the Ergo precision tip scissors makes getting into tight sections of the fly easy and then cutting the tough materials is easy work for these scissors.
